Monday, first day properly off schedule. While I had a typically early and anxious start to a travel day, we had a good plan that served us well and we even got to fit in a stop at a second hand book store.

We were relieved to find Pulp Fiction Books still open in Mount Pleasant. There are so many new condos in the area it’s barely recognisable, the cosy cafes and the cool bar where Eric and I met 10 years ago a distant memory. So it goes.

This evening when I asked Casper what his favourite thing was about the holiday, he answered “being up high and seeing the people below”. He said it was cool to be able to look up and then go up there and look down, to see the opposite. He’d been looking forward to seeing skyscrapers, so I’m glad to hear they were as good as he’d hoped.
