Full moon in Aquarius.
It’s wonderful to finally see some blooms in the garden, it’s been a very strange year.

I sowed thousands of poppies, but only a few have bloomed. I’ve savoured every one. Don’t tell the others, but these ones are my favourite, with those gorgeous smokey pinks and greys.

I don’t remember buying two different echinaceas but they’re clearly not the same! I’m thinking of spreading more of them around the garden. It seems like a colour I wouldn’t like but I can’t get enough of them, and neither can the bees.

The colours are working better for me this year, and it’s nice to have at least a few areas with the gaps filled in.

The edges are just starting to catch on the Firelight. The flowers on the Nikko blue are hypnotically gorgeous, never mind that the stems have not been able to hold the blooms and it’s all flopped over.

I missed my sunflower sowing window this year, leaving a big hole in the summer garden. Casper raised this one at preschool and gave it to me as a seedling for mother’s day and it feels extra special.

The Magnolia tree is doing very poorly, we’re not sure if it’s going to make it. But where there would otherwise be a big hole in the border, there is a glorious mini-forest of black and purple hollyhocks.
