    The light is beautiful up here, just shy of 50° N. The angles frame each day differently and you can witness the shortening of each as we tilt. It makes me conscious of hurtling through space. Happy Equinox ✨

    I do like the way the air shimmers with heat in summer, briefly. Mostly I like it because of how good it makes the shade feel. It’s flat where I grew up, so it’s always a pleasure to come around the corner to mountains while wandering the neighbourhood. But it’s baking hot, so let’s go…

    At low tide you can walk a long way out. The crabs get bigger as you go.

    Hydrangeas look like they’re made of porcelain. Stars of Jasmine Tobacco open at dusk. Mesmerising tropical sunsets. Shreds of poppy. Blue stars and tendrils. Magical gladioli.
